Where should you look for a cheap hotel?

You can come across many budget hotel chains that provide both a good standard of accommodation and an affordable price for a room. Such hotels differ depending on the country, so before you travel abroad it’s a good idea to do some research.
I recommend using a hotel room offered by one of such chains because they are usually quite inexpensive fairly cheap and you may be certain that you’ll find all the expected standards in place when you arrive. On the other hand, the location of a hotel may sometimes be a little ‘out of the way’. There are, for example, cheap hotel chains that have branches at out of town locations. It’s also possible that you’ll miss out on the more personal service you would probably receive from a smaller, owner-run establishment.
Another solution is to search for an individual hotel. Small hotels are frequently managed by their owner and very often you can dig out a cheap hotel that way. The owner is usually running and looking after the hotel, it is possible to find a hotel that is like a hidden jewel. In some cases the degree of care and attention in a less expensive place might be better than in a mid-range hotel chain. In the end, the owner’s business depends on it, so they will probably do what they can to make your stay as pleasant as possible.
